| The
Junior String Orchestra is designed to take over where the violin, viola and
cello classes finish. When children decide, after two years of learning
one of these instruments in an EYM group, that they would like to have
individual private lessons, they can continue playing in a group by
joining the Junior String Orchestra. This would normally be at P5 level.
There is also a Senior String Orchestra, which
caters for children of approximately grade 3 level and above. Both String
Orchestras are also open to children of similar levels,
who have learned their instruments outwith EYM. There is no upper
age limit, although currently the oldest pupils are 17.
The orchestras are conducted by Anne Giles.
