Musicianship

“A great learning environment to foster children’s interest in making music”

Musicianship classes are intended for children in Primary 5 upwards who are taking lessons on an instrument or voice and/or who sing in a choir, at EYM or elsewhere.  These classes are intended to help children to develop their general understanding of music, both aural and theoretical, including reading and writing music, musical memory, aural perception and inner hearing, and include both practical and written activities.  They are open to those who have completed the Musical Foundations classes as well as those who have gained similar experience elsewhere.  There is no upper age limit; currently the oldest pupils are 14.  Children are grouped according to age and stage. The cost is £9.95 per week during the 2024/25 session.

Classes are taught by Helen Robbie and Laura Cross.
